Box Score The Eagles struck first in the Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational when Evan Lugo netted an unassisted goal in the first period. Lugo's goal adds to his already team-leading point total, which is now at nine.
Skidmore answered back in the second period with two goals within three minutes of each other to take a 2-1 lead. The second period saw four total goals. The third goal of the period was scored by Kyle Weiss of the Eagles and knotted the game at 2-2. Skidmore answered with a powerplay goal later in the period, giving them a 3-2 lead over Post.
The third period was dominated by the Thoroughbreds. Their two goals in the third helped seal a 5-2 victory. Post was out-shot in the third period 11-9 and out-shot 51-22 on the game.
Brandon Brown played the entire game in net and stopped 46 of the 51 shots he saw.
Tyler Hackett was the only Eagle with a winning record in faceoff circle (9-8). As a team, the Eagles won 26 faceoffs to the Thoroughbreds 47.
Coach Whitney on today's performance: "Great effort by the team adjusting to the larger ice surface. The score does not indicate how well the guys executed the game plan".
