Wright Honored Again

Waterbury, Conn. – The Post University Eagles looks to solidify itself as one of the top teams in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference as it takes on Bloomfield in a CACC doubleheader at Municipal Stadium on Thursday afternoon at noon.

The Eagles currently sit at 15-14 overall and 10-4 in the CACC. They are currently in third place in the conference, two games back of Chestnut Hill for second place.

Wright Honored Again
Freshman Alex Wright (Butler, N.J.) was named CACC Rookie of the Week for the consecutive week.

Wright batted .563 in four games last week, including six extra base hits (four doubles, one triple, one home run). He also scored four runs and drove in seven.

Against Nyack in a doubleheader sweep, Wright went 6-for-9 with five RBI and three runs.

Top Ten List
As the Eagles continue to make their way up the CACC standings, many of its players have found themselves in the top 10 in some key statistical categories.

With his performance over the weekend against Nyack, Wright moved into a tie for 10th place in batting average at .333. Freshman Don Walsh (Hamilton, N.J.) is tied for third in home runs with three.

On the mound, grad student Mike Costello (Manassas, Va.)  has jumped up to third in strikeouts with 57. He is also seventh in ERA at 2.22 and tied for third in wins with four. Senior Don Crook (Meriden, Conn.) also has four wins.
