WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University softball team is scheduled to play a slate of two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheaders this weekend. The Eagles will travel to Philadelphia on Saturday, Apr. 18 to do battle at 1 p.m. and make their way to Wilmington, Del. to face Goldey-Beacom on Sunday, Apr. 19 at 12 p.m.
 
All-Time Series vs. Philadelphia
Post has fared well against Philadelphia, having played to a 15-4 record all-time against the Rams. On the road in Philadelphia, Pa. the Eagles are 6-2.

Scouting the Opposition
Philadelphia is placed seventh in the CACC with a 10-8 conference record and 17-19 overall. The Rams most recently defeated Chestnut Hill in a doubleheader sweep. Philadelphia's offense is hitting .288 as a team, and its pitching staff has recorded a combined ERA of 3.70. The Rams were picked to finish ninth in the Preseason Coaches Poll.

Post leads the all-time series 21-7 and has had tremendous success as of late, having won four of the previous five meetings. When playing the Lightning away, the Eagles are 8-4.

Goldey-Beacom is placed 14th in the conference with a 2-14 conference record, and 4-19-1 overall. As a team, the Lighting are hitting .248 and opponents are batting .347; they are riding a two-game skid at the hands of Georgian Court. Goldey-Beacom was selected to finish 13th (of 14 teams) according to the CACC Preseason Coaches Poll.
 
Leading the Way
Junior Samantha Esque (Springfield, Pa.) leads the Eagles pitching staff with seven wins and ranks first in the conference with a 1.20 earned run average. She has also notched 75 strikeouts over the season, ranking third in the CACC.
 
Junior Kayla Kresley (Alburtis, Pa.) leads Post in all major hitting categories. Kresley is hitting .427 over 82 at-bats with 35 hits, five homeruns, and 17 RBIs.
 
CACC Honors
First-year Emily Schaffer (Hazlet, N.J.) was named Rookie of the Week on Monday, Mar. 30 and Esque was named CACC Pitcher of the Week on Monday, Apr. 13.
 
Preseason Prognostications
The Post softball team was selected to finish sixth in the CACC Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Eagles received 122 points in the poll as voted by the conference's 14 head coaches, just behind fifth-place Dominican. Caldwell received 194 points and 12 first-place votes to earn the top spot in the poll. Defending conference champion Wilmington was selected second with 157 points and one first-place vote.
 
On Deck
The Eagles plan to wrap up their regular season with a three game slate next week. The Eagles will play host to Bloomfield College on Wednesday, Apr. 22 in a conference doubleheader and face two more CACC-opponents in Wilmington University and University of the Sciences on Friday, Apr. 24 and Saturday, Apr. 25.
