Waterbury, Conn. - The Post University baseball team will take on its toughest task of the season thus far as they will take on No. 8 Franklin Pierce in Rindge, N.H. on March 13 at 3 p.m.
The Eagles are currently 4-8 overall.
In their last outing, the Eagles dropped both games in a doubleheader against Stonehill on March 7. They dropped the first game, 3-2 and the second game, 11-6.Â
In game one, the Eagles had a 2-0 lead early on, but Stonehill scored three runs in the bottom of the sixth for the win.
Game two was a back and forth affair as junior Erik Rodriguez (Miami, Fla.) had three RBI.Â

The Eagles have made their way into some key statistical categories. Freshman Don Walsh (Hamilton, N.J.) is tied for fourth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with nine RBI. He is tied for second in home runs with two.
On the mound, grad student Mike Costello (Manassas, Va.) is fifth in ERA at 2.04 and third in strikeouts with 15. Classmate Zach Batchelor (Monroe Township, N.J.) is sixth with 13 strikeouts.

Franklin Pierce has started the season perfectly, winning its first nine games of the season and are in first place in the Northeast-10 Conference.
The Ravens are led by Jay Jabs who is fifth in batting average in the NE-10 (.448), tied for first in home runs (2) and fifth in stolen bases (6). Chris LaVorgna is tied for second in RBI with 12. On the mound, Mike Lundin is tied for first in strikeouts with 29.
In the all-time head-to-head series, the Ravens lead the Eagles, 6-2. However, the Eagles won the last meeting between the two teams; a 4-3 win in 2012.
