Box Score BOLTON, Conn. – The Post University men's ice hockey team began its first season in exciting fashion on Saturday night with a 3-2 overtime victory over Eastern Connecticut State at the Bolton Ice Palace in Bolton, Conn. The Eagles are 1-0 heading into their home opener on Saturday.
Sophomore
Christopher Harris (Barnstable, Mass.) scored on a pass from freshman
Peter Petrino (Derby, Conn.) in the extra period for the win.
The assist was the second point for Petrino on the night as he also scored the first goal in program history. Junior
Trevor Buchas (Bristol, Conn.) and freshman
Owen Kane (Woodbury, Conn.) assisted on the score.
Kane added another helper on the Eagles' second goal as he found sophomore
Dave Canfarotta (Woodbury, Conn.) for the score.
Post was 1-for-5 on the power play while ECSU scored both its goals with an extra skater. The Eagles were outshot 32-25 and the Post goaltenders made 30 saves.
The Eagles are back in action in a rematch with the Warriors on Friday, Nov. 13 in their first home game at the Sports Center of Connecticut in Shelton, Conn. Faceoff time is set for 7:30 p.m. on the upper rink.
