Â
In the early stages of the first set Stonehill went on a damaging six-point run to lead Post 9-5. From that point in the set, the Eagles looked to break up the Skyhawk attack but could only manage one point for every two credited to Stonehill. It looked like Post could mount a comeback with a three-point swing late in the set to cut the deficient to five points, but it was to no avail as Stonehill capped off the first set with two service aces to win 25-16.
Â
The Eagles started the second set on a high note with a three-point run; however it didn't take long for the Stonehill offense to find its grove. As the set progressed, the Skyhawks scored in sets of fours, and cashed in on one monster seven-point swing to take a commanding 23-11 lead. Stonehill would go on to take the set by a score of 25-13.
Â
In this game of runs, Stonehill was able to take advantage of the momentum once again in the third set. The Eagle offense did better their previous set totals by recording 17 points in the final set.
Â
With this loss Post falls to 5-6 on the season, remaining 1-1 in CACC play. Stonehill improves to 9-3 overall as they hold the top seed in the Northeast-10 conference sitting 2-0 thus far.
