Post Baseball Falls To #2 Felician In CACC Tournament

NEW CASTLE, Del. – The Post University baseball team was defeated by No. 2 Felician in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament on Thursday afternoon, 3-2. With the loss the Eagles will now face top-seeded Wilmington in an elimination game later today.
 
Senior Zach Brecht (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) open the game with a single up the middle, but the Eagles would not have another runner reach base until the fifth inning. The Golden Falcons pulled ahead in the first after Joe Petosa drew a bases loaded walk. Felician added another in the inning as Aaron Brill scored on a fielder's choice.
 
Petosa recorded another RBI in the third with a single up the middle as Felician led 3-0 heading into the fifth. After a flyout, sophomore Eduardo Familia (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) doubled to right field. Senior Marcel Chavez (Los Angeles, Calif.) brought the first Eagles' run home with a single.
 
Senior Alex Beland (Trois-Riviere, Quebec) homered to left field to leadoff the seventh and cut the deficit to 3-2, but the next three Eagles would be sit down in order.
 
Post threatened in the eighth after a leadoff walk put a runner on. Senior Mike Shada (Holtsville, N.Y.) doubled to right center to put two in scoring position with two outs, but flyout would end the inning. Familia hit another double in the ninth but was stranded at second.
