Box Score 2 CACC Tournament BracketPURCHASE, N.Y. – The Post University baseball team clinched its first Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament bid since 2011 on Friday with a split over Concordia. The Eagles earned the sixth seed and will play third-seed Nyack on Saturday at 2 p.m. for the first round.

Game One: Post 6, Concordia 3Post came in to the day needing just one victory to earn a spot in the tournament and got that out of the way in game one. Neither team got anything going through the first two innings, but the Eagles loaded the bases with one out in the third after two walks and a hit by pitch. Post would strand the runners after two flyouts.

Sophomore
Eduardo Familia (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) walked to open the fourth and later advanced to third on a failed pickoff attempt. Senior
Marcel Chavez (Los Angeles, Calif.) brought him home for the first run on a groundout.

A two-out single by Mike Mangeniello in the sixth tied the game 1-1. The Clippers took a 3-1 lead in the seventh on a bases-clearing double by Vincent Capone-Froio.

The lead didn't last long as Post scored five times in the eighth for the victory. After a double by senior

Alex Beland (Trois-Riviere, Quebec) singled down the line to cut the deficit to one.

Casaubon would come home for the tying run on a wild pitch that moved up all runners. Familia doubled to put the Eagles in front for good. After a hit by pitch put two one, a double steal put both runners in scoring position. Senior
Zach Brecht (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) put the game away with a two-run single to center.

Sophomore
Alex Johnson (Bethel, Conn.) picked up his first victory of the year going 2.2 innings of hitless relief. The victory snapped Concordia's six-game winning streak and eliminated them from CACC Tournament contention.

Game Two: Concordia 7, Post 2The Clippers stopped the Eagles' hopes of earning the fifth seed in the tournament with a victory in game two. After Shada drew a leadoff walk in the fourth, Casaubon doubled to center to put Post in front 1-0. He would be stranded at second after three flyouts.

Randy Torres tied the score at 1-1 with a sacrifice fly in the fifth after a leadoff single and an error. Junior
Dylan Pastor (Hewlett, N.Y.) hit a two-out single in the sixth and later stole second. Familia came up big again with a hit to center to break the tie and give Post a 2-1 lead.

Concordia took the lead for good in the seventh with a two-out grand slam by Nuri Gunes. The bases were loaded by two hits and a walk. The Clippers added two more runs in the eighth.

A win by the Eagles on Saturday would earn them a trip to Wilmington for the double-elimination tournament against second seed Felician on Thursday, May 8 at 11:30 a.m.Â
