DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Post University softball team dropped a heartbreaker to Mercy, 6-5 in eight innings on Monday afternoon. Seniors Stephanie DeMartino (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Rebecca Erb (Yardley, Pa.) both went yard for the Eagles. The second game was cancelled due to rain.

Mercy went up 3-0 in the first inning behind homeruns from Megan Johnson and Jackie Coulliard. Freshman Kathryn Dawson (Newfields, N.H.) got things going for Post with a single that brought in redshirt freshman Kayla Kresley (Alburtis, Pa.) to make it 3-1 in the second.

Erb then put Post ahead 4-3 in the fifth inning with a three-run shot, her second homer of the season. Mercy added a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning however, and the Mavericks took a 5-4 run into the seventh inning.
