Box Score 2 Tweet #PostBBLYNDHURST, N.J. – The Post University baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader against Felician on Saturday in Rutherford, N.J. during a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game. The Eagles dropped the first game, 7-1, and the second game, 6-1.
The Eagles are now 10-12-1 overall, and 6-4 in the CACC. Felician now stands at 16-13 overall, and 8-3 in the CACC.
During the first game, the Eagles managed just five hits throughout the game. Felician scored one run in the first inning on a wild pitch in the first inning.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Golden Falcons opened up the game, scoring three runs. Joe Petosa hit an RBI single to drive in a run. J.R. Meneses then walked with the bases loaded to drive in a run to make it 3-0. Chris Faber then singled to drive in Petosa to make it a 4-0 game.
The Golden Falcons would score one more in in the bottom of the sixth and two more in the bottom of the eighth to put Felician up 7-0 to put the game out of reach.
The Eagles would score one run in the top of the ninth inning on an
Eduardo Familia (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic) single to left field, scoring senior
Julien Casaubon (Joliette, Quebec). The Eagles tallied just five hits on the day, but also drew five walks.
John Holland (3-3) got the win for Felician, pitching seven innings and giving up two hits and three walks.
Mick Terzi (Wallingford, Conn.) got the loss. He is now 2-2 on the season. He threw five innings, giving up four runs – three earned - on four hits and striking out nine.
In game two, Felician jumped out to a 3-0 lead, by scoring two runs in the first inning on an two-run single by Brennan Price in the bottom of the first. Felician scored again on a balk in the top of the third.
The Eagles were able to muster a run in the top of the fifth as senior
Kevin Fearon (Williston Park, N.Y.) tripled to drive in senior
Marcel Chavez (Los Angeles, Calif.), to cut the deficit to 3-1. Fearon would be stranded on third as Stephen Paladino (2-2) struck out the next two batters to end the threat.
Felician would score two more runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and one in the bottom of the seventh to seal the game. The Eagles managed four hits on the game. Two of which were from junior
Dylan Pastor (Hewlett, N.Y.).
Evan Devico picked up the loss for the Eagles. He threw 6.1 innings, giving up six runs on 10 hits and four walks while striking out six. He is now 1-3 on the season.
Up next for the Eagles is a doubleheader against Briarcliffe on April 13 at Rogers Park in Danbury in an out of conference tilt.
