WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University softball team will open up its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) schedule with three conference games this week. After a two-week layoff, the Eagles will travel to Felician for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m on Thursday, March 20.
Post will then have its home opener on Saturday, March 22 with a doubleheader against Goldey-Beacom beginning at 1 p.m. On Sunday, March 23, the Eagles will host a noon doubleheader against Chestnut Hill at LaMoy Field which was originally scheduled for Sunday, March 16.

Post dropped its final game of the NTC Spring Games, 9-3 to Findlay. Senior
Stephanie DeMartino (Staten Island, N.Y.) recorded two hits including an RBI double for the Eagles.
Freshman
Natalie Lennox (Landenberg, Pa.) had an RBI single and fellow freshman
Karoline Prevost (Fall River, Mass.) struck out four batters in two innings. After winning two of its first three games, the Eagles have now dropped six games in a row.
Scouting the Competition:
Felician is 6-9 on the season and swept Saint Thomas Aquinas at home in its last appearance. The Golden Falcons are 0-2 in the CACC with a pair of losses to Wilmington. Ciera Clark is batting .500 with three homers and 16 RBI through 13 games for Felician.
Goldey-Beacom has gotten off to a slow start this season and posts a record of 1-8 overall. The Lightning dropped its first two CACC games of the season to Bloomfield the last time out. Roni Peters leads the team with a .348 batting average.
Chestnut Hill has yet to win a game early in the 2014 season and is 0-8 so far. The Griffins were last swept at Queens on Saturday, March 15. Emily Soller has posted a team-high .545 slugging percentage thus far and has a pair of homeruns and four RBI.

With Felician:
Post and Felician have nearly split the all-time series as the Eagles are 13-14 against the Golden Falcons overall. Felician swept the series last season, but Post topped the Golden Falcons 11-8 in the 2012 CACC Tournament.

Eagles among Leaders:
Both junior
Kaitlin Derby (Douglaston, N.Y.) and freshman
Erica Ragazzone (Philadelphia, Pa.) are currently among the CACC's best in earned run average. Derby (1.62 ERA) sits in sixth while Ragazzone (1.83 ERA) is eighth in the conference. Sophomore
Samantha Esque (Springfield, Pa.) is also eighth in the conference with 16 strikeouts so far in 2014.
Natalie Lennox has a batting average of .421, good for 14th in the CACC.
Preseason Prognostications:
The Eagles were selected to finish ninth in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Preseason Poll as announced by the conference office on Monday, Feb. 4. The Eagles received 85 points in the poll. Defending conference champion Caldwell garnered 12 out of the 14 possible first-place votes to earn the top stop in the poll. Dominican received the other two first-place votes and earned the second spot.
Senior Leadership:
The Eagles return six seniors in 2014, all of whom made at least 31 starts a season ago. All five of Post's top hitters in 2013 are back for their senior campaigns. Seniors
Stephanie DeMartino and
Rebecca Erb (Yardley, Pa.) both led Post with a .315 batting average last season. Fellow senior
Christina Udris (Levittown, Pa.) led the Eagles with six homeruns and 31 RBIs in 2013.
