The Post University baseball team beings Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play on Friday, March 15 against Chestnut Hill with a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. at Latshaw-McCarthy Field in Norristown, Pa. The Eagles are ranked 10
th in the most recent National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region poll.

Recap
The Eagles team dropped their second straight game for the first time this season on Wednesday as they fell at Dowling 5-3. Freshman
JJ Cormier (Hialeah, Fla.) was 2-for-3 with one run batted in. Senior
Todd Blair (Ajax, Ontario) had two hits and a run scored. Junior
Mike Shada (Holtsville, N.Y.) had a double for the Eagles only extra-base hit of the day to go along with an RBI.
Dowling went out to a 5- 1 lead after four innings. Shada doubled to right field in the seventh to cut the deficit to 5-2. Blair and junior
Billy Bryant Gonzalez (Ponce, Puerto Rico) both reached to start the eighth. Blair advanced to third on a flyout to centerfield. Cormier drove him in a batter later with a single to center as the Eagles closed the gap to 5-3. Post went down in order in the ninth.
Scouting the Griffins:
Chestnut Hill is off to a 6-8 start on the young season, but has won three of its last five games. Both the Eagles and the Griffins split a pair of games against Northwood this season. Pitcher Bob Hopkins leads the team with 15 strikeouts in 18.1 innings of work. He was named to the Tino Martinez Division II Player of the Year Award Watch List. Brian Happ has led the Griffins at the plate this season with 17 hits and a .315 average. Happ has 11 runs scored, six runs batted in, and four stolen bases. The Eagles are ranked 10
th in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) East Region Poll released on March 11. Post received 13 points to move into poll for the first time this season. The Eagles received six votes in the March 3 poll.
Launching Bombs In Debut:
Freshman
JJ Cormier hit a home run in his first-career at-bat on Friday, Feb. 22 in a 6-5 victory against Virginia Wesleyan. He launched a solo-shot to left field for the Eagles first run of 2013. Cormier was 1-for-2 on the day and drove in two RBI.
Preseason Prognostications:
The Eagles were tabbed to finish seventh CACC Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Wednesday, Feb. 13. Post totaled 53 points from the league's 11 head coaches. Wilmington was selected first unanimously.
On Deck:
Post continues conference play with two doubleheaders next week at home. The Eagles take on Bloomfield on Wednesday, March 20 and Felician on Saturday, March 23 both series beginning at noon. Games will be played at Rogers Park in Danbury, Conn.
