LOWELL, Mass. – The Post University volleyball team was defeated on the road at UMass-Lowell on Friday night, 3-0. The final scores were, 16-25, 17-25, 24-25. Senior
Kelly Hayes (South Orange, N.J.) recorded six digs and now sits just three away from 1,000 for her career.
Hayes led the team with eight kills and also had two service aces. Junior
Monica Aristizabal (Tustin, Calif.) led all players with 17 digs. Graduate student
Kelli Reynolds (Stamford, Conn.) recorded six kills and a solo block.
Two early kills by Hayes launched the Eagles to a 5-1 lead in the first set. The River Hawks battled back and tied it 12-12 and eventually opened up and 18-13 advantage. Junior
Emily Wilman (Perth Amboy, N.J.) had two kills as Post cut the deficit to 18-16.
UMass-Lowell led from start to finish in the second set. The River Hawks went out in front 8-2 early, but Post (2-6, 1-0 CACC) answered with a 6-3 run to pull within three at 11-8. Graduate student
Vanessa Ramos (Milford, Conn.) had a service ace during the stretch. UMass-Lowell led by as many as nine in the set.

Julia Slyaktina (Moscow, Russia) launched the Eagles out to a 7-4 advantage in the final set. The teams traded points and a kill by Reynolds tied the set for the seventh time at 14-14. The River Hawks went on a 4-0 run to make the score 18-14 and Post never could recover.
Post will be back in action tomorrow afternoon at Franklin Pierce. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
