LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Behind a 4-for-4 game with three RBIs and two runs scored from sophomore
Christina Udris (Levittown, Pa.), the fifth-seeded Post University softball team coasted past fourth-seeded Wilmington 6-1 to open play in the 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Tournament. With the win, the Eagles advanced into the winner's bracket and will face top-seeded Dominican at 4 p.m.

Ashley Cummings (Stafford, Va.) improved to 9-12 with the complete game win. She allowed just four hits in the game and recorded six strikeouts. Offensively, junior

Kim Bentson (Brewster, N.Y.) each had two-hit games.
Post (17-30) scored twice in the top of the second to take a 2-0 lead. Senior
Amy Mantha (Agawam, Mass.) scored the first run of the game on a single by Bentson and an error by the right fielder that allowed Mantha to move from third base to home. Senior
Cassidie Ern (Hope Valley, R.I.) plated Udris on a sacrifice fly to center.
The Eagles grew their lead to 5-0 in the fifth. After an RBI double down the left field line by sophomore
Casey Sclafani (Brooklyn, N.Y.) plated sophomore
Jackie Bonamassa (Staten Island, N.Y.). Bonamassa scored from first on the play. The frame was capped on a two-out, two-run home run to left field by Udris.
In the sixth, an RBI double to right center field drove in sophomore
Alysha Pieta (Middletown, Conn.) to increase the lead to 6-0.
Wilmington (26-24) scored its lone run on a solo home run by Kinsley Parker to make the score 6-1.
Post will return to action at 4 p.m. when it takes on 2012 CACC regular season champion, Dominican, on field one.
