WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University baseball team closed a six-game homestand with a 10-3 loss to UMass Lowell in a non-conference game on Monday at Municipal Stadium. Sophomores Jeff St. Pierre (Milford, Conn.) and Kevin Fearon (Williston Park, N.Y.) drove in one and two runs, respectively.

UMass Lowell, which is ranked seventh in the East Region as voted by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, scored seven times in the top of the second to open the scoring. During the inning Cam Kneeland used a two-RBI single to help the River Hawks in the frame.

Fearon used a two-out single to left center to drive in St. Pierre and senior James Wong (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

The River Hawks tacked on three runs in the top of the ninth, including a one-out home run by Mark Sanborn which hit off the foul pole down the left field line. UMass Lowell (20-13-1) made its advantage seven runs, 10-3.

Senior Hayden Allred (Waxachachie, Texas) took the loss for the Eagles and fell to 0-2 this season. He pitched the first seven innings and allowed seven runs, four of which were earned and struck out four batters. Christian Lavoie improved to 2-0 for the River Hawks.
