WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University baseball team dropped a 16-11 decision to #19 Le Moyne on Thursday afternoon at Municipal Stadium. The Eagles cut a nine-run deficit to as little as two runs after a seven-run fifth, but would not come any closer. Senior
Russell Sirko (Danbury, Conn.) went 4-for-5 at the plate for Post.
Sirko's four-hit game was the first of the season for any Post player. He totaled three extra base hits, two doubles and a triple, and three RBIs and a run scored to pace the Eagles' offense. Sirko and junior
Bobby Rodriguez (Carmel, N.Y.) both finished a home run shy of the cycle. Rodriguez finished the day 3-for-4 with three RBIs, a double and a triple.
Le Moyne (18-4-1) seized a 9-1 lead behind four runs in the top of the first and third. In the third, Vincent Redmond cleared the bases with a three-RBI triple after the first three Dolphins of the inning reached base.
With Post (8-15) behind 10-1 in the bottom of the fifth, the Eagles scored seven runs and sent 10 batters to plate. The seven-run fifth is a season-high for runs in a single inning. Senior

Bobby Rodriguez scored from third after the ball was mishandled by pitcher Ryan Davis. Through five innings of play, Le Moyne held a 10-8 lead.
However, the Dolphins scored three times in the sixth and seventh to push their advantage back to five runs, 13-8. Le Moyne added three more runs in the ninth to claim a 16-8 lead.
The Eagles scored three times in the bottom of the ninth with two outs. An RBI double by Sirko scored Carr from first, while a run-scoring single by
Erik Rodriguez plated Sirko.

With the win, Le Moyne ran its unbeaten streak to 13 games, and is 12-0-1 during the stretch. Post has alternated wins and losses in its last five outings. In the game, the teams combined for 12 extra base hits.
The Eagles will host Nyack in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader on Saturday, March 31. First pitch at Municipal Stadium is slated for noon. Post defeated the Warriors 5-3 on Tuesday in a non-conference contest.
