WATERBURY, Conn. - After a six-game road trip, the Post University baseball team will return home to Municipal Stadium on Thursday, and host the #19 Le Moyne in a non-conference tilt. The Eagles will round out the week on Saturday, when Post hosts Nyack in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) doubleheader on Saturday.
Post enters Thursday's game with wins in two of its last three outings and the Eagles are 1-1 against top-20 competition this season. During the Northeast Challenge, Post opened the season with a split against #16 Franklin Pierce. The Eagles won the nightcap 4-3 and
Stephen Corbett earned the complete game win.
The Dolphins are 11-4-1 this year, and are 11-0-1 in their last 12 outings. Le Moyne defeated American International on Wednesday, 7-0, and the Dolphins have notched two shutouts in their last four games.

Behind a complete game three-hitter from
John Jeanes and a two-RBI single by
Russell Sirko in the eighth, the Post University baseball team rallied to beat Nyack on the road Tuesday afternoon at Provident Bank Park. The Eagles scored four runs in the final two innings of the game to secure the win, which was the eighth of the season for Post and second for Jeanes. He retired 12 straight batters at one point in the contest.
AGAINST THE TOP-20:
The Eagles are 1-1 against top-20 competition this season, after Post split a doubleheader with #16 Franklin Pierce to begin the Northeast Challenge on Feb. 24. After a 10-3 loss in the opener, a
Joe Diz triple with the bases loaded gave the Eagles a 4-1 lead.
ATOP THE CACC IN SHUTOUTS:
With two shutouts of Ohio Valley in For Pierce, Fla., Post leads the conference in shutouts.
Cutler Ruby and
Stephen Corbett both pitched complete games for the Eagles.
CORBETT LAUDED BY NCBWA:
Senior
Stephen Corbett was named to the Preseason NCBWA All-East Region Second Team on Jan. 31. As a junior, Corbett compiled a 6-2 record with five complete game shutouts. He amassed an ERA of 1.77, and batters only hit .209 against him on the year. He appeared in 12 games, made nine starts, and allowed 19 runs, 14 of which were earned.
