LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Post University softball dropped its fourth straight Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game on Saturday afternoon as they fell in a doubleheader at Georgian Court. The Eagles lost the first game, 4-2, and, despite a five-run fourth inning, fell in game two, 7-5.

Junior Lianna May (King Ferry, N.Y.) recorded her team-leading eighth and ninth multi-hit games of the season, with two singles in each. She also drove in a run and come home to score twice. Senior Amy Mantha (Agawam, Mass.) had an RBI in each game and two runs scored on the day.

Georgian Court struck first with three-run homer by Brooke Hull in the first inning. The Lions led the game off with a single by Dara Schroeder. Junior Johanna Rice (Glendale, N.Y.) hit the next batter to put two on with no outs. A sacrifice bunt moved the runners over to second and third before Hull drove everybody in. Georgian Court nearly scored one more, but sophomore Jackie Bonamassa (Staten Island, N.Y.) threw Kelsey Cutler out at home to end the frame.

Rice settled in and the Eagles shut the Lions offense down over the next four innings, but were unable to close the gap. Sophomore Stephanie DeMartino (Staten Island, N.Y.) singled in the fourth inning, but a line drive double-play back to the pitcher ended any threat. Senior Cassidie Ern (Hope Valley, R.I.) had a hit in the fifth, but could not come around to score.

The Eagles got on the board in sixth inning. May led off with a single to right center and moved into scoring position after a Bonamassa groundout. Mantha crushed a double to left field to bring home the first run. Sophomore Casey Sclafani (Brooklyn, N.Y.) hit a double one batter later to drive in Mantha and close the gap to 3-2.

Georgian Court struck first again in game two with two runs on two hits in the first inning. The second run came on a squeeze bunt by Kelsey Cutler. An error by the Eagles in the third led to another Lions run.
