WATERBURY, Conn. – Junior Bobby Rodriguez (Carmel, N.Y.) of the Post University baseball team scored what proved to be the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh, to give the Eagles a 3-2 win over The College of Saint Rose at Municipal Stadium on Thursday afternoon in a non-conference game.

Junior John Jeanes (Hatchechubbee, Ala.) threw a complete game and earned his first win of the season for Post (5-9). He scattered four hits, and allowed just one earned run. Jeanes struck out five batters in the contest, and is 1-1 this season.

The first two Eagles to bat reached in the bottom of the seventh. Rodriguez walked and sophomore Kevin Fearon (Williston Park, N.Y.) singled, and Rodriguez advanced to third on the play to put runners on the corners with no outs. During Todd Blair's (Ajax, Ontario) at bat, Rodriguez scored on a wild pitch to give Post the lead for good.

With Saint Rose (6-6) leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, the Eagles leveled the score at 1-1 after an RBI double by junior Alex Villar (Mesa, Ariz.) scored Blair. Blair, who scored from first on the play, reached on an infield single.

The Golden Knights claimed a 2-1 lead in the top of the third when Nikko Wahl scored his second run of the game on a fielder's choice off the bat of Kyle Charron. However, the Eagles tied the score at two in their half of the third. After a leadoff triple to left field by senior James Wong (Brooklyn, N.Y.), he scored on a ground out to shortstop by Blair.

Individually, VIllar finished 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored. Villar and Wong tallied a double and triple, respectively. Wong's three-base hit was his second in as many games.
