WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University softball team returns to the Northeast and will travel to The College of Saint Rose on Wednesday, before the Eagles compete in their home and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener against Philadelphia on Sunday. Both dates will be doubleheaders.

SAINT ROSE 11, POST 9
The Golden Knights jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings; however, the Eagles scored all nine of their runs in the third and fourth innings to take a 9-6 lead. Eleven batters went to the plate in the Post half of the fourth. Rebecca Erb tallied two RBIs, and senior Amy Mantha and sophomore Christine Udris plated a run as well.

LAST TIME OUT AGAINST THE RAMS: APRIL 29, 2011
GAME ONE: PHILADELPHIA 6, POST 4
GAME TWO: POST 5, PHILADELPHIA 2
On the second to last day of the regular season, Post and Philadelphia split a CACC doubleheader at the Rams home field. Philadelphia secured a 6-4 walk-off win in nine innings, after the Eagles took a 4-3 lead into the bottom of the ninth. In game two, Post scored the eventual game-winning run in the fifth on a RBI double from Brandi Davis, which scored Amy Mantha. Mantha hit a lead-off home run in the fourth.

NO SOPHOMORE SLUMP:
Casey Sclafani is picking up right where she left off after her rookie season. The sophomore is batting .292 after eight starts with two runs scored. All of her hits have been singles. Sclafani has a team-high four-game hitting streak this season, which ranged from March 5-7, and included a 1-for-3 day against the #21 Tampa Spartans. Last season, Sclafani finished with a .305 average (29-for-85) with 15 runs scored, five doubles, one triple and one home run.

HOT START:
After a team-high three hits on the final day of the NTC Spring Games, junior Lianna May leads the Eagles in batting average (.353), hits (12), slugging percentage (.471) and total bases (16). She is also 2-for-2 in stolen base attempts. She has four multiple hit games in 10 contests, and has been in the leadoff spot for each of the last eight games.

PRESEASON PROGNOSTICATIONS:
The Post University softball team was selected to finish seventh in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Coaches' Poll. The Eagles garnered 117 points, while Dominican was named the preseason favorite. The Chargers are the two-time defending conference champions. A 14-team league, the top eight squads will qualify for the 2012 CACC Championship, which will be hosted by Georgian Court from April 26-28, in Lakewood, N.J.

ALL-CACC RETURNEES:
The Eagles return a pair of all-conference selections from a season ago. Amy Mantha was a First Team All-CACC choice in 2011, and Stephanie DeMartino was a second team selection. Mantha led the team a season ago with a .385 average, and added 10 doubles, a team-high two triples and four home runs. She also totaled 28 RBIs and 30 runs scored.
