WATERBURY, Conn. – The Post University baseball team will wrap up its 13-game road trip to begin the season on Wednesday, March 14, at Wilmington in a non-conference single game slated for 3 p.m. After the matchup with the Wildcats, the Eagles will host The College of Saint Rose on Thursday, and welcome Chestnut Hill to Waterbury on Saturday for the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener.

Post and Chestnut Hill will play a twinbill on Saturday, March 17, with first pitch of game one scheduled for noon. The Eagles play their home games at Municipal Stadium.

A LOOK BACK AT THE 2011 SERIES WITH WILMINGTON:
The Wildcats took two out of three games from the Eagles during the 2011 season. The squads split a CACC doubleheader. Wilmington earned a 7-5 win in game one, but Post rebounded to take the nightcap 11-5. The teams met in the CACC Tournament where the Wildcats took a 9-0 win on their home field. Cutler Ruby earned the win for Post in the series in game two of a doubleheader. Ruby pitched eight innings and struck out seven, en route to his first victory of the season.

A LOOK BACK AT THE 2011 SERIES WITH CHESTNUT HILL:
Post compiled a 3-2 record against the Griffins last year, including an 8-7 win in the first round of the CACC Tournament in walk-off fashion. The Eagles scored two runs with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to advance to the CACC Semifinals. James Wong had the game-winning single that scored Todd Blair. The Eagles took a doubleheader from Chestnut Hill in Florida, while the Griffins swept a twinbill in Philadelphia on April 30.

CARR-YING THE LOAD:
In seven games in Fort Pierce, Fla., freshman Taylor Carr went 10-for-30 to lead the team in batting average (.333), hits (10), doubles (four), slugging percentage (.533) and total bases (16). More specifically, in his last two games, Carr is 5-for-8 at the plate with five RBIs and three doubles.

THE RIGHT STUFF:

Collinge stands at 0.63 in 14.1 innings pitched, while Ruby has tossed 20.1 innings with an ERA of 0.89. More importantly, Ruby has 21 strikeouts and only one walk this year.

PRESEASON PROGNOSTICATIONS:
The Eagles were picked to finish third in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Preseason Coaches' Poll. Post finished with 97 points and came in behind preseason favorite Wilmington (120 points, 10 first place votes) and Dominican (105 points, one first place vote). The Wildcats and Chargers have combined to win the last three conference tournament titles.
