2011 CACC Softball Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn (May 3, 2011) Junior Amy Mantha and freshman Stephanie DeMartino have been named to the 2011 CACC All-Conference Softball team. It is the second time Mantha has earned the honor after making the second team her freshman year.

Mantha earned an at large spot on the 1st All-CACC team after having the 3rd best batting average in the conference with a .423 and is ranked 57th nationally. Mantha is also ranked 163rd in slugging percentage and is one on the top 250 hardest batters to strike out.

DeMartino has played most of the season as the designated player ranking as one of the top freshmen

in the conference with a .374 batting average putting her 11th overall. She ranks 32nd in the nation for doubles per game and has a team leading 32 RBIs adding 3 homeruns.

The team will compete in the first round of the CACC Softball tournament on Thursday May 5.
