Eagle Baseball Defeats USciences 4-0; Advances in CACC Tournament

WILMINGTON, DE (May 13, 2011) Post University's baseball team survived an elimination game against USciences in the CACC tournament Friday afternoon winning 4-0. The Eagles are now one of three teams remaining in the double elimination tournament and will take on the loser of the Wilmington vs. Dominican game at 6pm Friday.

The Eagles jumped to a quick 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Brendan Barry hit a one out double and scored when Travis Locascio singled during the next at bat. Locascio then stole second to move into scoring position setting up Ralph Dieguez who hit a RBI single scoring the run.

In the bottom of the sixth still holding a 2-0 lead, Dieguez singled up the middle and moved into scoring position on a Jeff St. Pierre sacrifice bunt. Ian Toro struck out, but got on base after a wild pitch on the dropped third strike. Kevin Fearon was then hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Felix Osoria reached on a fielder's choice scoring Dieguez. James Wong got on base with a fielder's choice to load the bases once again and when Barry walked during the next at bat Fearon scored the final run in the 4-0 win.

With Tom Sirois on the mound, the Devils were kept silent for the shutout victory with five strikeouts through 9.0 innings.
