Eagles baseball falls to Wilmington in Game 1 of CACC Semis

WATERBURY, Conn. (May 12, 2011)---The Post University baseball team dropped the first game of the double-elimination CACC semifinals, 9-0 at Wilmington University on Thursday. 

The Eagles (22-17, 12-9 CACC) could muster just 3 hits against Wilmington's Joe Harris, who went eight shutout innings, striking out eight without surrendering a walk. 

First baseman Travis Locascio led the Eagles on offense with a 2-for-3 day. 

Dan Steers went 7.1 innings and gave up six earned runs, striking out four. 

Wilmington, which owns the conference's best overall record at 35-10, (15-5 CACC) scored five runs in the eighth to put the game out of reach. 

The Eagles will face the University of the Sciences (14-21, 12-9 CACC) at noon on Friday in an elimination game at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, Del.
