Stephen Corbett
WATERBURY, Conn. (April 9, 2011)---Post University recieved two outstanding pitching performances, and the Eagles (14-8, 4-2 CACC) split a doubleheader with Felician College on Saturday at Municipal Stadium.

Cutler Ruby hurled 8.2 innings of shutout baseball, and Steven Corbett backed him up with a complete game shutout, as the Eagles held Felician scoreless in 18 of the 19 innings played on Saturday.

The Eagles dropped game one, 3-0 in ten innings before coming back to win by the same score in game two.

Corbett baffled the Golden Falcon hitters in the second game, striking out seven and walking just one in a dominant performance. Cy Young himself couldn't have done much better.

The Eagles scored on RBI singles from Aaron Lerma in the first, Travis Locascio in the fourth and James Wong in the fifth to account for their three runs.

Brendan Barry did a nice job setting the table for the Eagles, going 2-for-4 with a run scored.

As dominant as Corbett was in game two, Ruby may have been even more impressive, dealing 8.2 shutout innings and giving up just two hits, while striking out six.

Felician scored three times in the top of the tenth inning, and held Post University in check in the bottom of the frame to seal the 3-0 win.

Post University returns to the diamond on Monday, when they host American International at Municipal Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7 pm.
