WATERBURY, Conn. (April 6, 2011)---The Post University softball team defeated Bloomfield College, 9-4, in game one of a doubleheader in New Jersey. The Eagles lost game two, 9-6.

Casey Sclafani led the Eagles in game one, drilling a two-run single to center in the fifth to give the Eagles a 9-4 lead. She finished 1-for-3 with 3 RBI.

Designated hitter Amy Mantha had another outstanding game for the Eagles, going 3-for-3 with 3 runs scored in the game. Mantha is batting .347 on the season, with a team-high 13 RBI.

Shortstop Christina Udris added a two-run single in the third inning to give Post University the lead, 5-4. 

Cassidie Ern was also terriffic at the plate for the Eagles, going 2-for-4 with an RBI in the 9-4 win. 

Udris led the Eagles in game two, punctuating a five-run fifth by blasting a three-run homer to left that gave the Eagles a 6-5 lead.

Bloomfield rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh, and won the game, 9-6.

Post University returns to action tomorrow, when they take on Assumption College at LaMoy Field.
