Eagles dominate Wilmington 11-5, in game two of double dip at Municipal

WATERBURY, Conn. (April 2, 2011)---The Post University baseball team fell to Wilmington University,7-5, in game one of a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Municipal Stadium.

The Eagles  (10-7, 2-1 CACC) roared back from a 5-0 deficit to tie the game in the bottom of the eighth, but a Bryan Woolford single reclaimed the lead for Wilmington (20-2, 6-0 CACC) with an RBI single in the top of the ninth.

Todd Blair led off the bottom of the eighth with a single, and came around to score on a Ralph Dieguez single to left. After base hits by Brendan Barry and Aaron Lerma loaded the bases, Wilmington's Joe Harris hit Travis Locascio to force in a run.

Russell Sirko followed by singling to center, driving in two, and bringing the Eagles to within one.

James Wong then smashed a single to left, tying the game and sending Eagles fans into a frenzy.

Dan Steers pitched a solid game for Post University, going 6.2 innings and giving up just 3 earned runs.
Game two is set for 4:15 pm.
