WATERBURY, Conn. (March 26, 2011)---Amy Mantha drove in seven runs in two games and Post University swept Chestnut Hill in a conference doubleheader in Philadelphia Saturday afternoon.

Mantha, who has returned to the Eagles' lineup as a designated hitter after missing the start of the season, hit a towering homer in each of the two games as Post University (8-11) dominated the Griffins.

Mantha hit a two-run homer in game one, and followed with a three-run blast in the second game.

The Eagles won the first game, 8-1, before taking a 5-0 lead in game two and holding on for the 5-2 win.

Lianna May got things started for the Eagles in the first game, driving home Casey Sclafani in the second inning.

Sclafani led off the fifth inning with a double, and came all the way around from second to score on a Lianna May sacrafice bunt.

But Mantha was just warming up. She followed an RBI double by Christina Marino with the first of her two home runs on the day, blasting a two-run shot over the fence in the seventh, giving the Eagles a commanding 8-0 lead.

Ashley Cummings went all 7.0 innings for the Eagles, giving up just 1 earned run and striking out seven.

Post University received another terrific pitching performance in game two, as Johanna Rice went the distance, giving up just two earned runs and striking out six.

The Eagles pounded out 13 hits in game two, and five different players had at least two hits, including Mantha, who jacked a three-run homer in the sixth.

Post University returns to action on Monday when they travel to the University of Southern New Hampshire.
