Post University Baseball Advances in CACC Playoffs over Concordia 7-2

BRONXVILLE, NY (May 4, 2010) Post University's baseball team defeated the Concordia Clippers Tuesday afternoon 7-2 and will advance to the second round of the six team CACC tournament. The Eagles will play tournament host Wilmington at noon on Thursday.
Tom Sirois picked up the win for the Eagles after pitching eight innings with six strikeouts and allowing only two runs.
The game remained scoreless through two innings until the top of the third when Post University would get on the scoreboard first.
Jose Reyes was hit by a pitch and advanced to third on a single from
Todd Blair.
Dan Luisi would single to left field to score Reyes while moving Blair to third.
Brendan Barry then picked up an RBI as Blair came across the plate for a 2-0 lead.
In the top of the fourth, the first two batters in
Ralph Dieguez and
Alex Jahn walked. Russ Sirko hit a sacrifice bunt moving both runners over and setting up a Reyes RBI single scoring Dieguez. When Concordia's catcher made an error Jahn scored making it 4-0 Post University.
Before the inning ended, Luisi hit another single to score Reyes.
Tyler Wilschetz picked up a two RBI single to the outfield scoring Barry and Luisi for a 7-0 edge.
Concordia would score their only two runs of the game in the bottom of the eighth for a 7-2 final.
