Briarcliff Tops Eagle Baseball 8-3

WATERBURY, Conn (May 2, 2010) Post University's baseball team lost to Briarcliff Sunday afternoon 8-3 in a non-conference game closing out the 2010 regular season.

Briarcliff took the lead early by scoring two runs in the first inning. The Eagles would get on the board for the first time in the bottom of the second after Travis Locascio doubled and scored on a Harold Mejia sacrifice RBI. 

Heading into the bottom of the sixth inning, the score was 6-1 in favor of Briarcliff. Brendan Barry would score on another hit from Mejia making it 6-2. 

However, Briarcliff was not done yet scoring two in the top of the seventh. Todd Blair walked to get on in the bottom of the inning and made it across the plate after Reyes hit a sacrifice fly to right field settling an 8-3 final.

The Eagles will play the first round of the CACC playoffs on Tuesday at Municipal Stadium at 2pm.
