Eagles Baseball Makes Playoff with Saturday Sweep Over Chestnut Hill

WATERBURY, Conn (May 1, 2010) Post University's baseball team will compete in the CACC post season after defeating Chestnut Hill College in a home double header on Saturday. The first game went in the Eagle's favor by a 10-3 score and in game two by a 3-2 margin.
The Eagles scored three runs in the first inning scored by Dan Luisi, Brendan Barry, and Travis Locascio to take the lead early. In the fourth, Russ Sirko would score the eventual game winner after getting on base with a dropped third strike making it 4-0.
The Griffins score one in the fourth before the Eagles unloaded in the sixth bringing in five runs. Sirko got a base hit and advanced on an error that put Jose Reyes on base and both would score in the inning. Luisi walked and would score on hits and Barry got on with a base hit scoring with a Locascio double. Locascio would also score to make it 9-1 Eagles.
After Chestnut Hill scored in the seventh and eighth innings, Locascio was hit by a pitch and scored on a Ralph Dieguez for a 10-3 final. Dan Steers earned the win in the first game with eight strikeouts.
In game two, Todd Blair led off with a single and scored on a Locascio sacrifice making it 1-0. The score remained that way until the fifth when Alex Jahn also singled and scored, this time on a Luisi RBI.
The Griffins would score one in the seventh, but the game winner was scored by Blair who singled and advanced to third on both a passed ball as well as a wild pitch. Luisi would be credited with a sacrifice RBI on the game winner settling a 3-2 score.
The Eagles play Sunday afternoon at home against Briarcliff.
