Baseball Dominates American International 18-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (April 14, 2010) Post University's baseball team earned a commanding victory against American International on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 18-1. The win snaps a five game losing streak and improves the Eagles to 14-17 overall.
After a scoreless first inning, the Eagles scored three in the top of the second. Doug Wells walked with one out and Alex Jahn hit a single up the middle. Then with two outs, Jose Reyes doubled to score Wells. Brendan Barry came up to the plate and hit a two RBI single making the score 3-0.
Post University would build upon their lead in the third inning when Wells hit one of his five RBIs to score Travis Locascio. Wells would also score on a Harold Mejia single. Todd Blair doubled bringing in both Mejia and Jahn. Before the inning ended, Dan Luisi would also hit a two RBI single giving the Eagles a 9-0 advantage.
Neither team would score until the sixth when Jahn hit a three run homerun to left field. After three errors in the eighth inning, the Eagles would score four more runs en route to an 18-1 victory. American International's only run came in the bottom of the eighth after Sean McClelland scored on a Collin Dickson fielder's choice RBI.
Post University will be at home on Thursday against Southern Connecticut.
