Baseball Drops Two against Felician
RUTHERFORD, NJ (April 11, 2010) Post University's baseball team lost two games to Felician late Saturday night 4-0 and 3-1. The Eagles are now 13-16 overall and 5-8 CACC.
In game one, with Tom Sirois as the starting pitcher, the Eagles would muster five hits without scoring a run.
Felician scored the eventual game winner in the bottom of the first inning when Alex Del Valle walked and scored on a dropped fly ball by right fielder Harold Mejia making it 1-0.
Felician would not score again until the 7th inning after Joe Petosa doubled to lead-off and scored on a Mike Farrell double down the right field line putting the Golden Falcons up 3-0. Farrell would also score the last run of the game in the 8th after a string of errors in the inning.
In game two, Richie Pierro took the mound for the Eagles. Again Felician scored first, this time it was two runs in the 3rd inning. With two outs Jimmy Simpson tripled and scored on a Mickey Zudonyi double. Zudonyi would eventually score the winning run on an error.
Post University would score their only run of the day in the top of the 8th. Sean Jarrett pinch hit for Jared Maddox with one out and singled to the shortstop. Todd Blair came into the game to run for Jarrett. Blair would score when Travis Locascio singled to right field earning the RBI.
Felician scored one more in the bottom of the 8th to secure the win and a final score of 3-1.
Post University will be back in action again on the road on Monday at Southern Connecticut.
