Baseball Falls to Washington Adventist in Doubleheader

(TAKOMA PARK, MD) Post University's Baseball team dropped two games to Washington Adventist 4-3 in the last inning, and 7-5 in game two to drop to (3-4) on the young season. The Eagles struggled all day offensively as they were only able to get 9 hits during the double-header.

"We've got a lot of things to work on as we progress through this season,” said AJ McNamara, Eagles head coach. “I was not happy with our effort today as we just didn't come to the ballpark with any energy and just didn't battle at all. We were outplayed and out coached in every aspect of the game. We'll figure it out and work through this."

Game 1 featured Dan Steers bulldogging his way to a 3-2 lead when he came out in the 6th. Tim McCarthy came on and retired the side until Washington Adventist scored 2 runs in their last at bat to pull out the 4-3 win.

Game 2 saw Washington Adventist jump out to a 5-1 lead on a solo homerun in the 1st inning and a 2 run homerun in the 3rd inning. The Eagles would cut the lead to 5-3 and 6-5 but that would be as close as the Eagles would get.

Dan Luisi had two hits on the day including a double to inch closer to the All-time hits record.

The Eagles return to the diamond to take on Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday with first pitch slated for 3pm.
