Millersville Tops Eagles Softball 10-2

Clermont, FL (March 8, 2010) Post University's Softball team fell to Millersville Monday morning 10-2 in Clermont, Florida. The Eagles are off to a 0-3 start with seven more games on the spring break schedule.

Senior Stephanie Carrillo pitched the first 4 innings for the Eagles in the loss. Freshman Ashley Cummings pitched the final two innings giving up two runs. Millersville's Jamie Motsko registered 3 RBIs and scored two runs.

Kelly Fitzgerald tripled in the top of the first putting Millersville on the scoreboard first as Lindsay Hosier scored. On the next at bat, Casey Cooker singled scoring Ally Homa making it 2-0 in the first.

When the Eagles came to the plate, Cassidie Ern hit a lead-off single and scored when sophomore Amy Mantha doubled. The Maraurders would retire the side with a 2-1 lead.

Millersville scored two more runs in the top of the second and opened the flood gates in the 4th bringing in 5 runs. In the bottom of the inning, Post University's Samantha Canning singled and advanced to second when Emily Archer reached on a fielder's choice. Canning would score off the bat of Kim Bentson who hit an RBI single making it 9-2.

Millersville would score one more time in the top of the 6th when Motsko homered leading her team to a 10-2 victory.
