WATERBURY, Conn (March 19, 2010)Post University's Baseball team defeated American International College Friday afternoon at Municipal stadium 6-3. Michael Wolfe (1-2) is credited with the win pitching six innings with nine strikeouts against 24 batters. The Eagles are now 6-8 on the season.

Zach Bunszell picks up his second loss of the 2010 season for AIC. Post University's Ralph Dieguez scored one run on three hits, adding 2 RBIs in the Eagle victory.

The Yellowjackets opened the game with a run in the first inning when Paul Maza reached on a fielder's choice, advanced to second on a passed ball, and stole third base. Maza scored when Anthony Arrichiello blasted a single up the middle. 

The Eagles would respond in the bottom of the first when Tyler Wilschetz and Travis Locascio singled. Both would score on a Dieguez RBI double making it 2-1 after one.

Post University would strike again in the third inning when Wischetz  and Locascio walked. Brendan Barry hit a single and when Maza made a throwing error at second, Wilschetz scored making it 3-1 Eagles.

In the bottom of the 4th, three consecutive singles from Dan Luisi, Todd Blair, and Jose Reyes scoring Luisi giving the Eagles a 4-1 edge.

In the top of the 6th, Julian Concepcion came to bat with the bases loaded and reached on an error by Todd Blair scoring Maza.

With a 5-2 lead, Russ Sirko hit a sacrifice RBI to right field scoring Dieguez who singled to lead off the inning. AIC would score once more in the top of the 8th, but the Eagles would seal the win in the bottom of the inning when Travis Locascio reached on an error by Concepcion, scoring Jahn who came in to pinch run for Sean Jarrett

Post University will be in action again Saturday afternoon at Municipal Stadium against Nyack for the first conference game of the season. The games are slated to begin at 12pm.
