SALISBURY, NC (March 12, 2010) Post University Baseball team lost to Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday 7-5 and followed that up by splitting their two games on Thursday at Catawba College. In the first game the Eagles beating Urbana 14-10 and lost to Catawba 14-2.

"We finally got off the losing streak so that was encouraging,” said AJ McNamara, Eagles Head Coach. “I think we're starting to figure out our lineup and our staff so we're getting some good quality repetition and readying ourselves for conference play. The coaching staff really believes that this could be a good season if we could put it all together."

Against Wesleyan, the Eagles held a slight 5-4 advantage heading into the bottom of the 6th but the Marlins put up 3 runs to earn the hard fought win. Senior Tyler Wilschetz belted a first pitch fastball over the centerfield fence for his first homerun of the year. Junior Ralph Dieguez had two hits including a double and an RBI. Travis Locascio added a triple and RBI among his two hits, while freshman Doug Wells went 2-4 with an RBI.

Against Urbana, the Eagles fell behind early 2-0 before jumping on Urbana for 10 straight runs led by junior Brendan Barry's 2 run homerun to centerfield continuing through Tyler Wilschetz's second homerun in as many days to make the score 10-2. Urbana would climb back into the game and had the tying runs on base in both the 8th and 9th innings before freshman Phil Sirois closed the door by striking out the last two hitters of the game earning the save for senior Richie Pierro.

Wilschetz went 2-5 with his second homerun of the season and added 2 RBI's and 2 runs scored, sophomore Travis Locascio went 3-6 with 3 runs scored. Ralph Dieguez, Jose Reyes and Doug Wells each had 2 hits in the 14 hit attack.

In Game 2 against the Indians, the Eagles were held to 6 hits as they ran into a very talented Catawba College team. Senior Dan Luisi had 2 hits to move him closer to the All-Time hits record. Luisi now needs only eight hits to break the record currently held by Jimmy Coleman.

The Eagles (4-6) will be back in action playing a 3 game set with Pfeiffer College beginning Friday at 2:30 pm.
