Post University Men's Basketball Defeats Concordia 75-66

WATERBURY, Conn (February 9, 2010) Post University's Men's Basketball team defeated Concordia College Tuesday evening at the Drubner Center in Waterbury 75-66. The win improves the Eagles to 8-14, 4-8 CACC. Concordia falls to 4-18, 4-9 CACC.

Trevon Hamlet led scoring for the Eagles with 18 points. Jon Lucky had a double double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Concordia's William Eason scored 18 points and pulled down 19 rebounds, 12 of them were on the defensive glass.

Over the first three minutes of the game, Concordia went on a 9-0 run. Garvin McAlister hit consecutive three point shots to cut the Clipper lead to one. The Eagles out-shot Concordia 50-41.4 percent in the first half and Post University went into halftime with a 45-28 lead. 

In the second half, the Clippers cut the Eagle lead to nine with 14:30 to play in the game. With under six minutes to play, Eason was fouled by Hamlet and sent to the line converting the three point play making it 63-58 Post. 

On the other end of the floor, Post University's Nyheem Sanders was fouled and hit both free throws. On the next possession, Eason was blocked by Hamlet. Lucky then connected from long range to put the Eagles up by ten, 68-58.

Spencer Smith would expand the lead with a three of his own allowing the Eagles to spend the rest of the game managing the clock before earning a 75-66 win.

Post University will be back in action again on Thursday night at home against Goldey Beacom. Game time is set for 8pm.
