MYRTLE BEACH, SC (February 27, 2010) Post University's Baseball team took two non-conference wins Saturday on their weekend trip to Myrtle Beach, SC beating Felician 8-6 and then followed that up with a 7-2 win over the University of Philadelphia. With the wins, the Eagles improve to 3-1.

"We fell behind early to Felician, 5-1, but the guys stayed relaxed and battled their tails off to pull off a tough win against a very good team in Felician," said Eagles head coach AJ McNamara.

Ralph Dieguez went 2-4 with a double and an RBI to help rally the Eagles in the decisive 6th inning which saw Post tally 5 runs to take a 6-5 lead. The Eagles would add one more before Felician cut into the lead making it 7-6. Post would add one more for the final score. Freshman John Jeanes started and went into the 5th inning. Senior Richie Pierro came in and earned the win while senior Tim McCarthy threw 2 scoreless innings for his 2nd save of the year.
"Richie threw very very well when we needed him,” added McNamara. “He kept their offense in check while our offense found its rhythm and came up with some big hits."

In game two against Philadelphia, it was a low scoring affair before the Eagles were able to break it open in the 7th with 2 runs to make the score 7-2. Mike Perry earned the win going 4 innings of relief giving up just 1 run. Freshman Jon Skidmore pitched a scoreless ninth in his collegiate debut.

"The bullpen has been very good thus far,” noted McNamara. “We have some really good depth which is going to help us out a lot this year."

Junior Brendan Barry went 2-4 with 2 doubles while senior Tyler Wilschetz went 3-5 with a double and a triple and 2 RBIs.

The best three at bats in the second game came from Jose Reyes, Travis Locascio and Alex Jahn. All three of them each had two strikes but came through with clutch run scoring base hits.

Post will wrap up their trip with a 9am game vs. Nationally ranked #9 Westchester University, who is currently undefeated in the Northeast Challenge.
