UMass-Lowell Tops Eagle Volleyball 3-0 on Senior Day

WATERBURY, Conn (November 2, 2010) Post University's women's volleyball team fell to UMass-Lowell in their final home game of the 2010 season, 3-0 Thursday night at the Drubner Center. The Eagles will play their final game of the regular season on Saturday against USP.
Post University was led by
Stephanie Zarakas and
Kelly Hayes each having three kills. Senior
Teresa Hodges contributed with 15 assists. UMass Lowell's Jillian Hadder had 11 kills, while libero Carolyn Eddy had 29 digs.
The Eagles struggled terribly in the first set of competition falling 25-12, but started the second set with a 6-0 run. When River Hawk head coach Karen McNulty called a timeout, the tides turned with UMass going on a 9-1 run. They would not look back winning the second set 25-18.
In the third and final set, the Eagles started off strong again with a 3-0 run before UMass went on one of their own to tie the game at three. Throughout the set, both teams traded points until the 14th point when the River Hawks extended their lead to a 25-19 victory.
Post University will be back in action again on the road Saturday afternoon at USP in Philadelphia.
