For the final 10 minutes of the half, the two teams exchanged buckets keeping the Post University lead close to four points. In the closing seconds of the first, Grant connected on a layup sending the Eagles into the locker room with a 50-43 point edge.

The beginning of the second half featured an up tempo pace. With 13:45 to play the Griffins took a one point lead when Dan Comas hit a layup. It was the first time Chestnut Hill lead since the opening minutes of the first half.

Lucky went to the charity stripe, missing both and giving the ball back to Chestnut Hill. Dirugeris missed a three with 15 seconds to play forcing a Griffin timeout. When Jeter drove to the lane, Post University's Nyheem Sanders stole the ball and fired a pass to Garvin McAlister who was fouled. McAlister hit both ends of a one and one giving the Eagles a 74-70 win.
