Eagles Softball Splits Chestnut Hill 

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Post University Softball team split a double header against Chestnut Hill on Sunday. After the weekend, Post is now 16-8 this season.

Box Score Game 1

On game one, Post was defeated 4-3.  Stephanie Carrillo pitched for the Eagles allowing 7 hits and 3 earned runs.  Post scored in the first inning when Amy Mantha singled scoring Casside Ern. In the second inning Amanda Prince hit a sacrifice fly scoring Lindsay Heiser, giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead.
Going into the 5th, the score was 2-1 with Post out front. Mantha had her second RBI of the game scoring Ern after she got on base with a single to right field. In the bottom of the inning Chestnut Hill responded and tied the game at 3. 

Chestnut Hill went on to win the game in the 7th inning, when Jessica Day singled to bring in their 4th run after Shannan Burdziak scored. The final score in the first game was Chestnut Hill 4, Post 3.

Box Score Game 2

In game two, Lindsay Heiser took the over at the helm and pitched the entire game to earn the win for the Eagles 5-2. 

Post got off to a quick start again by scoring 2 runs in the first inning.  Samantha Canning doubled to lead off the inning. Ern came up and bunted to the pitcher and got on base following a throwing error. The error opened the door for Canning to score the first run.  A few batters later Emily Archer doubled as well this time scoring Ern and Post had a 2-0 advantage.

Post scored again in the 4th inning when Mantha doubled and scored when Samantha Pagano singled. Carrillo sinlged in th

e 5th to score Canning and pitcher Lindsay Heiser hit a RBI to bring in Bentson in the 6th.
Chestnut Hill attempted a rally in the 7th inning, but fell short only scoring 2 runs as the Ealges cruised to a 5-2 win.

The Post Softball team will be in action again against Caldwell on Wednesday at Lamoy Field. Game times are scheduled for 3pm and 5pm.
