Bentley Defeats Eagles Softball in Double Header
WATERBURY, CT - Post Universities Softball team fell to Bentley at home Sunday, losing a double header to Bentley College.
Box Score Game One
In game one the Eagles scored three runs in the second inning to take an early 3-0 lead. Both Samantha Canning and Nicole Gizzi* singled as lead-off batters. Emily Archer singled to right field scoring Canning and Gizzi.
Archer. Kimberly Bentson doubled bringing in Archer. By the end of the inning the Eagles had 6 hits to go with their 3 runs.
Bentley scored one run in the 4th inning but took the lead in the 5th scoring 3 runs off 3 hits. That would make the final score 4-3 with Bentley winning game one.
Box Score Game Two
In game two Bentley took control early scoring 3 runs in the top of the first inning. The runs scored would be enough for the Falcons to win the game. Christine D'Amico doubled with the bases loaded scoring all three runners Jasmine Ortiz, Ashley DeRosa, and Alex Hitchcock.
The Eagles scored their single run in the bottom of the 3rd. Bentson singled to lead off the inning and advanced to second. Bentson then advanced to third on a passed ball. Cassidie Ern reached on an error by second baseman D'Amico scoring Bentson.
Post will play again on Tuesday on the road against Wilmington in their 3rd and 4
th CACC games this season.
