St. Anselm Defeats Men's Basketball 80-72

MANCHESTER, NH (December 21, 2009) Post University's Men's Basketball team was defeated by the St. Anselm College Hawks Monday night 80-72. The Eagles now stand at 3-6 on the season.
Trevon Hamlet led the Eagles with 23 points and 7 rebounds.
Nyheem Sanders and
Spencer Smith each tallied 14 points. St. Anselm's Thomas Baudinet scored 23 points with 10 rebounds for a double double.
With 8:58 to play in the first half, Post University had amassed an 11 point lead. The Hawks went on a run to end the half and went into the locker room leading the game 36-35.
St. Anselm extended the led to five in the opening minutes of the second half, but the Eagles quickly rallied to tie the game at 41. With 7:08 to play the Hawks lead was back at 10. Sanders hit a jumper from long range, followed by a field goal by Hamlet cutting the St. Anselm lead down to five. On a fast break
Rashamell Vereen pulled the Eagles within three.
For the final five minutes of the game, St. Anslem would maintain their led for and hold on for an 80-72 point win.
Post University will be back in action again on Dec. 29th against St. Anselm at the University of Bridgeport for the ECAC Division II Holiday Tournament.
