Imeer Johnson was named the Defensive Player of the Week, while freshman defensive back
Jazaire Aurelus earned Rookie of the Week honors as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Imeer Johnson - Defensive Player of the Week - Football
Johnson led the Eagles defensively in their first game of the season against the Bobcats in the 51-14 win. The graduate student had a team-high nine tackles, two of which were tackles for loss totaling nine yards, a seven-yard sack, one interception, and a pass breakup.
Jazaire Aurelus - Rookie of the Week - Football
Aurelus started his collegiate career off in a big way for the Eagles, recording five tackles, including two tackles for loss totaling up 13 yards, a 10-yard sack, and one of the five interceptions that the Post defense forced in their 51-14 win over West Virginia Wesleyan College in their 2025 opener.
Like last season, Post University will head into its Bye Week before returning to Municipal Stadium on September 13th to face Southern Connecticut State University at 1:00 PM. This will be the first of two matchups against the Owls this season, with this one being the second of three nonconference games on the Eagles' schedule. Post is 0-3 all-time against Southern Connecticut, dropping a narrow 31-27 decision in their most recent matchup last year.
