Michael Pavelchak Named to All-Valley South Team

SHENANDOAH, Va. -- After an outstanding season for Post University Baseball, junior outfielder Michael Pavelchak's momentum continued into the summer ball season as the Nyack, New York native was named to the Valley League Baseball All-Valley South Team this past week.

Pavelchak, who batted .368 this spring in 51 games for the Eagles, put together a star-studded 38 game campaign with the Covington Lumberjacks which saw him lead the team with a .328 batting average. The junior also led the team in games played, at-bats (137), runs (23), hits (45), sacrifice hits (4), stolen bases (18), and tied for first with three sacrifice flies.

Additionally, Pavelchak was named to the Valley Baseball League All Star Game for the Valley South Team and would record a single, a walk, and a run scored across his two plate appearances.

The Lumberjacks would finish the regular season with a 22-22 record which earned them the seventh seed in the playoffs before falling to the Harrisonburg Turks in the best-of-three series last week.

Pavelchak will return to the Eagles as one of 21 student-athletes on head coach Ray Skjold's squad that are slated to enter their senior season this upcoming spring.
