WATERBURY, Conn. -- For the third straight year, graduate student Annuciata De-Souza was named Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference First Team All-Conference after a 9-2 overall start to her season in primarily the #1 and #2 Singles slots, De-Souza went 7-1 in conference matches entering the day against Chestnut Hill College.
Leading the way for the Eagles this season, De-Souza won 11 consecutive singles dating back to last season before dropping in a non-conference match against Southern New Hampshire University back on October 1st. De-Souza's lone conference match loss came against Jefferson University on October 13th in which she fell in the #1 Singles to Nicole Hrbkova in three sets on a tiebreaker round, 11-9.Â
In the doubles this season, De-Souza was 5-7 overall while pairing up with sophomore
Micaela Rosignuolo, junior
Megan Lombardt, and sophomore
Natalia Gonzalez Ramos along the way. The graduate student had won seven straight doubles matches dating back to last season before having that streak snapped against Dominican (N.Y.) on the road on September 19th.
The Eagles look to lock up the fourth and final seed in the CACC Tournament this afternoon with a win against Chesnut Hill College at 3:00 PM at the Edgewood Bath and Tennis Club in Middlebury, Connecticut. Post University will also make the tournament with a Dominican (N.Y.) loss against Wilmington University this afternoon, but in the event of a tie in the standings, the Lady Chargers would get the final seed due to tiebreaker.Â
