HOW IT HAPPENED
Overcoming a 2-0 deficit as the Eagles only had four players, meaning the Blue Jays took both the #5 and #6 Singles, Post would also need to secure both Doubles points in order to not to fall behind 3-0. Both the #1 Doubles and #2 Doubles would go the way of the Eagles in sweeping 6-0 fashion, as sophomore
Julie Merlin and freshman
Savannah Croft took down seniors Lili Garcia and Gia Alvarez in the #1 Doubles, while freshman
Vitalina Sokoliuk and sophomore
Laura Kotala defeated junior Jillian Milo and senior Bernae Webb.
Keeping the good times rolling into the four Singles matches as both the #1 Singles by Merlin and the #4 Singles by Kotala would be a pair of 6-0 wins for the Eagles, taking down Garcia and freshman Anna Beauchene, respectively.
Doing battle in the #2 Singles, Sokoliuk came away with her third consecutive Singles win overall, taking down Alvarez in two sets, 6-1 and 6-0. Rounding out the sweep of the Singles to give Post the 5-2 victory was Croft in the #3 Singles, defeating Milo in straight sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-1.
