Flushing, N.Y. - The Post University women's tennis team competed in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association East Regional tournament over the weekend.
Annunciata De-Souza, made it to the round of 16, receiving a bye in the first round, before defeating Mariana Ling of Queens College, 7-6(2), 7-5, and defeated Valentina Ivankovic of Wilmington, 6-4, 2-6 {10-5} to advance to the round of 16. She fell to Amaia Balaguer Brau of Saint Thomas Aquinas in a close three set match, 5-7, 6-4 {10-5}.
Oceane Mallevre, won her first round match over Jill Cafaro of Molloy, 8-0, but lost in two sets to Sanne Selmer Gilje of Adelphi, 6-2, 6-3.
Megan Lambardt lost in the first round to Julia Kielan of Adelphi, 8-5. Natalia Gonzalez dropped her first round match to Claudia Bahamon Lopez of the University of the District of Columbia, 8-2.
In doubles,
Micaela Rosignuolo and
Nina Langenfeld made it to the round of 16, defeating Ana Tarbujaru and Apolline Lamy, 8-5 in the round of 32 before falling to Barbie Quagliardi and Caterina Federici, 6-2, 6-2. Lambardt and De-Souza defeated Vera Gak Anagrova and Alba Guijo of Saint Thomas Aquinas in a tightly contested 9-8 (12) match.
Mallevre and
Julia D'Occhio lost their first round match to Victoria Azcona and Natalija Vlacic, 8-0.
