Syracuse, N.Y. – A 4-over par 75 from junior Michael Erickson (Prospect, Conn.) has helped place the Post University men's golf team in sixth place after the first round of the Mike Bello Spring Invitational at Bellevue Country Club.
As a team, the Eagles shot a 30-over par 314. Erickson's score puts him in a tie for ninth individually.
Roberts Wesleyan leads the 15-team tournament after shooting a 12-over par 296, four strokes ahead of Southern New Hampshire.
Senior Brendan McCormack (Watertown, Conn.) and junior Antonio Lopez-Woodworth (Mexico City, Mexico) each shot an 8-over par 79 to place them tied for 32nd. McCormack was also tied for the best scores on par threes, shooting even par. Senior Kyle Hughes (Pulaski, N.Y.) and sophomore Anthony Guerrera (Watertown, Conn.) each shot a 10-over par 81 putting them tied for 41st.
Matt Paradis of Southern New Hampshire shot a 1-under par 70 to take the first round lead. He is three strokes ahead of Erich Spitz and Alex Kunzwiler of Roberts Wesleyan.
